Today, the White House issued Executive Orders to accelerate drone innovation and enhance airspace security.

Wing applauds the White House for its forward-looking Orders, which signal a powerful commitment to the future of the American drone industry. It builds upon years of progress and public-private partnership, including Wing’s participation in the Administration’s UAS Integration Pilot Program in 2018 and our industry-first part 135 Air Carrier certificate in 2019, and creates a clear flight path for companies across the industry to develop and deploy transformative technologies that will benefit American communities and the economy.

Of particular importance is the Order’s focus on accelerating the rulemaking for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations. Getting this rule right is key to unlocking the full potential of drone delivery, enabling safe, efficient, and scalable services for communities across the country. Furthermore, the Executive Order signals a critical step forward in creating a more streamlined regulatory environment, one that can pave the way for simplifying approvals for environmental reviews and the transport of essential consumer goods. This commitment to innovation, coupled with the focus on bolstering U.S. manufacturing and integration, aligns perfectly with Wing’s own investments in American operations and technology.

Today’s Orders are an essential step to match US regulation with the pace of US innovation and business, as exemplified in our announcement yesterday expanding our Walmart partnership to an additional 100 Walmart stores across some of the country’s largest retail markets: Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Orlando and Tampa. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Administration to turn these goals into a reality. Together, we can deliver a future where all Americans have access to safer, faster, and more sustainable delivery options.
