Behind the scenes with Wing at the world’s largest airshow

For the first time, Wing flew our new, larger aircraft during the world’s biggest airshow, EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Flying during AirVenture means carefully coordinating airspace at the busiest airport in the world. To go big this year, Wing brought a mixed fleet, marking the first time Wing flew our larger aircraft at AirVenture.
Wing’s demo crew arrived early to set up our lightweight infrastructure for drone delivery demonstrations, checking the flight path and completing flight validations. As Wing’s mixed fleet completed automated health checks, an iconic blimp flew nearby.
Against a backdrop of historic warbirds, helicopters and military jets, Wing's current and new, larger aircraft prepared to deliver packages from the skies, carrying payloads of about 2.5 and 5 pounds, respectively. Wing's diverse packages delivered air show essentials, including water bottles, sunscreen and chapstick, to the delight of demonstration attendees. As our drones took flight, Wing demonstrated in AirVenture's busy airspace similar flight operations Wing uses to complete hundreds of thousands of deliveries to homes across multiple U.S. cities.

Beyond the flying field, Winglets talked with AirVenture attendees about our operations in the U.S. and beyond, along with inviting aviators to learn more about careers at Wing. Among our favorite conversations were with customers who regularly use Wing drone delivery. As one customer shared, “I'm so excited to see Wing here at AirVenture this year. We are customers in the DFW region and use the service all the time. We love using it for last minute or forgotten items and we're so excited to see you expanding!”

Thanks to all who stopped by the Wing booth, attended a demo or connected with a Winglet on-site. We’ll see you next year!
