About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Process team based in Dallas, Texas. The position seeks highly-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a highly dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for working in new technologies, demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices bringing products to production, and the ability to deliver results as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team. In this role you will cross-functionally collaborate with Wing's internal teams and external contract manufacturers. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator that has experience qualifying and optimizing the manufacturing process. This role is crucial to ensuring that quality and timelines are met.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage Contract Manufacturer’s assembly line qualification, including station, fixture, and SOP buy-off
  • Coordinate with Program, Quality, and Testing teams to ensure complete production coverage, driving quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process
  • Problem solving via DOEs, including set up, execution/supervision, analysis, drawing conclusions, and implementing solutions in a CM environment
  • Prioritize workload to unblock manufacturing line
  • Communicate development timelines and provide progress updates
  • Develop stakeholder buy-in according to functional criteria
  • Develop process flows that consider order of assembly, waste reduction, testing placement, and quality control
  • 5 - 10% of domestic travel is expected

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, including driving a product from NPI to mass production
  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and management
  • Strong manufacturing background in developing robust and repeatable processes to scale new products, including process design, fixture development, and line qualification in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert in driving engineering requirements into manufacturing solutions
  • Ability to provide DFM/DFA feedback to support continuous manufacturing improvement at vendors and contract manufacturers
  • Ability to use Solidworks for fixture design and analysis 
  • Understanding of tolerances and the ability to perform a stack-up analysis
  • Understanding of GD&T concepts, applications, and measurement methods
  • Statistical analysis and implementation experience
  • Ability to understand and ask for help when it is needed

Bonus: 

  • Vehicle (automotive or aerospace) manufacturing experience
  • Experience with injection molding, heat staking, machining, and die-casting
  • Experience with electrical harness development
  • Experience with waterproofing (coatings and/or enclosures)
  • Experience with automation and testing
