About the Role:

Wing is looking for an experienced Aviation Safety Program Manager to be based in Palo Alto, CA.  Safety is paramount to Wing’s culture, technology and business success and we are looking for a program manager to manage and mature our safety systems as we grow and expand. Wing is a designer, manufacturer and operator in the ever changing drone industry which presents many unique and exciting challenges. This person needs to be adept in coordination, adaptable and good under pressure as they optimize cross functionally.       

What You’ll Do:

  • Constantly evaluate Wing’s organization and technologies, looking for safety improvements.
  • Maintain and continuously monitor our safety metrics, alerting appropriate stakeholders to any noteworthy condition.
  • Coordinate with the respective safety leads in each functional area.
  • Lead the day-to-day implementation, administration and maintenance of the  Safety Management System (SMS,) including the annual SMS update.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct SMS training to ensure employees and vendors understand their responsibilities related to the Wing SMS.
  • Facilitation and management of Wing’s Safety Working Group and Safety Review Board.
  • Coordinate and update as needed Wing’s Event and Emergency Response processes and coordinate company training and readiness in collaboration with teams involved in the process and Wing’s Safety Working Group.

What You’ll Need:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 12+ years direct experience managing or coordinating safety programs in a heavily-regulated environment (e.g. preferably aviation, but manufacturing, healthcare, autonomous vehicles, and energy will also be considered )
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to exercise good judgment in a rapidly changing and sometimes stressful environment
  • Proven ability to effectively influence and communicate across multiple functions, up and down the organization, and externally with partners

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

$168,000$252,000 USD
