About the Role:
We are looking for a Head of FP&A based in Palo Alto, CA to lead a team of analysts to manage Wing’s resource allocation, short and long term financial projections, business analysis and required return on investment. You will play a strategic role in Wing, interfacing with cross functional leads, Wing leadership as well as Alphabet Finance leadership. You’re a good fit for this position if you can work well cross functionally to solve messy, complex problems and can provide top tier business analysis grounded in data.
What You’ll Do:
Manage, coach and develop a small, centralized team of finance analysts for success
Develop a strong perspective on what world-class FP&A should look like at Wing, and manage a roadmap to execute on your vision
Manage all aspects of budgeting and forecasting for Wing, including creating annual plan and updating financial projections monthly
Approve all spend and contracts for Wing; determine and hold teams accountable to spend thresholds to ensure efficient allocation of resources across the team
Establish success metrics and milestones for partnerships/deals; determine appropriate capital allocation and budgeting
Build and maintain 5-yr plan, including leading plan alignment meetings with Corp Dev, M&A Finance, Alphabet leadership, and the Wing board
Regularly update Wing leadership on the state of Wing’s business, including key operational and technical metrics
Own all executive-level Wing financial reporting
Review, analysis, and reporting of all corporate cost centers
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
12+ years of relevant experience in finance, management consulting, corporate strategy or similar environment, including FP&A and project management experience.
Experience working with analytical, quantitative, and relational database platforms
Superior business partnering skills incl. the ability to build senior level relationships, trust and get things done across functional boundaries; ability to be a trusted translator between product & finance leadership
Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with highly technical management team
Financial modeling skills; understanding trends, developing insights, turning them into strategies with high impact
Exemplary oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated track record of effectively partnering with technical, business, and operations colleagues.
Proven financial planning, systems, budgeting and forecasting experience
Knowledge of operational planning/finance systems including SQL, SAP, PIVT, and SIMBA
