Wing  is looking for a Field / Product Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team based in our Palo Alto office. As part of a dynamic, cross functional team, the ideal candidate should demonstrate knowledge of industry best practices in quality system setup, yield improvement, factory qualification and issue resolution.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Identify potential contract manufacturing (CM) partners, audit their quality system, and assess their manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of materials, product design, manufacturing, assembly, testing etc. 
  • Responsible for setting and executing advanced quality plans including incoming, in process and outgoing quality check for assemblies or components
  • Work with FAA to achieve Part21 certification (Production Certification), create the quality documentation as needed and implement at production sites
  • Define and review specification requirements for fit, function, and reliability by working together with Wing Mechanical Engineering, Hardware Engineering and reliability team
  • Coordinate with contributing groups to ensure updates are processed on schedule.
  • Work with massive amounts of data and measure quality
  • Identify, record, and report any problems through trend analysis
  • Perform incoming and final inspection as needed; drive issue till closure
  • Audit and support functions on CAPA's, SCAR's and Internal Audits
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions to non-compliance
  • Develop, review, approve inspection instructions / SOPs & checklists
  • Review and sign off outgoing inspection reports before airplane release
  • Be the first responder from Quality team for field issues; Working with cross functional team and drive issue resolution from Quality perspective
  • Analyze field quality data, identify trends and report to cross functional team 

What You'll Need: 

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in quality/reliability engineering role and takes care of the product from NPI to volume MFG stage or field quality
  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams and management
  • Strong manufacturing background in developing robust and repeatable processes to scale new products, including process qualification, process quality control and  line qualification in a rapid schedule
  • Expert in driving engineering requirements, continuous quality improvement at vendors and contract manufacturers
  • Understanding GD&T, tolerance stack up and design
  • Capable of identifying the time when help is needed and asking for help
  • JMP or Minitab and Six Sigma experience

Bonus: 

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience including experience in manufacturing environment, especially aviation products
  • Experience with the quality and regulatory compliance modules in Agile.
  • American Society for Quality certification preferred (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA)
  • Familiar with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949
  • Experience with mechanical / electrical processes such as injection molding, SMT & vision systems
  • Set up SPC, CP and CPK
  • Familiar with DOE, statistical analysis using statistical tools such as Minitab or Jmp
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
  • Ability to use 3D modeling software and simulation software for work purposes such as solidworks, Ansys, Mold flow Advisor, etc
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
