About the Role:

As a  Flight Test Specialist, you are responsible for planning and execution of R&D flight testing. This position is based at our remote flight test location in Hollister, California. This role involves developing detailed flight test plans including mission design, simulation, test execution, post flight data analysis, debugging, and reporting to relevant stakeholders. Previous experience as a flight test engineer is essential.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform flight test planning, flight readiness reviews, flight briefs/debriefs, act as test director during test execution and perform post flight data analysis
  • Assist in developing flight manuals and supporting documentation necessary to operate the system
  • Assist in the certification process, including generating and presenting certification artifacts
  • Travel to remote flight test locations as required

What You’ll Need:

  • B.S. in an engineering field or equivalent on the job learning experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
  • Comfort with a fast-paced environment and an appetite for innovation

Bonus:

  • Experience in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
  • Experience in creating test automation scripts using Python or similar
  • Experience with data processing and visualization tools such as Matlab
