Wing is looking for a Simulation & Modeling Engineer to join our Embedded Platform Engineering team based in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate has a passion for aviation, demonstrated knowledge of implementing physical simulations, and the ability to deliver results as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team.
What you’ll do:
- Enhance accuracy and fidelity of physics and sensor models:
- Develop mathematical models
- Design and analyze experiments to validate models
- Implement new features targeting dynamic simulation
- Develop vehicle/environment simulation tools supporting business and safety critical software development in areas such as:
- On-vehicle control software
- Perception and vision systems
- Fleet planning algorithms
- System failure contingency management systems
- Build functionality in areas including:
- Continuous test and quality assurance infrastructure
- Engineering R&D tools
- Very large-scale simulation pipelines
What you'll need:
- Experience modeling and simulating complex physical systems - in particular mechanics and aerodynamics
- Skills coding in C++, Python or MATLAB
- Interdisciplinary focus since you'll work closely with engineering and business teams across the company
Bonus:
- Passion for aviation and developing new technologies
- A knack for understanding complex problems and finding practical solutions
- Experience with control systems engineering, data processing or numerical methods
