About the Role:
As a System Integration & Test Engineer, you are excited about the challenge of developing a working, verified unmanned aerial vehicle systems ready for customer operations. You have a strong background in system engineering and avionics. You see and understand all the pieces across multiple disciplines, and can assess the risks in bringing these pieces together into one unified working system. Since you will be helping set strategy and planning, you also are keenly aware of resource management, team dynamics, and are able to be flexible as well as disciplined. You bring superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right work done quickly and effectively, diving deep, producing analysis and communicating results to a broad audience of content experts.
In this role you will:
- Develop and manage integration, verification and test strategy, plans, and resources, from proof of concept to production, including flight test campaigns.
- Perform system level analyses including hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, and failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA)
- Collaborate with Design Engineers in system bring up, design validation, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and system performance.
- Identify system deficiencies and communicate their relevance and impact to the operational system.
- Participate by making sound recommendations to resolve issues.
- Conduct fleet data analysis for design verification. See how the fleet is performing on a broader basis vs. requirements by using analysis to identify trends and performance margin.
- Assist in the certification process, including generating and presenting certification artifacts.
Experience & Skills
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
- 4+ years experience in systems engineering, including requirements derivation, system level analysis, failure analysis, risk and performance management, system integration, system verification, and the ability to develop system level test plans
- Experience partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering team, including mechanical, electronic, propulsion and software disciplines
- Experience with certified systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
- Comfort with a fast-paced environment and an appetite for innovation
Preferred
- Experience in system engineering on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
- Experience in communicating with management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs
- Experience with data processing and visualization tools such as Matlab or Excel.
- Experience in creating test automation scripts using Python or similar.
- Proficiency with scaling and automation tooling in system integration and test
